Wheeler Farm

We took our annual neighborhood trip down to Wheeler Farm. The kiddos all love this place - I think it is because it is simple and slowpaced and the kids can run around in big open spaces without being rushed from one thing to the next. Moms love this place because it doesn't have all the hype and expenses that you find at a lot of the amusement parks, not to mention mass overstimulation and the stress that adds when you are going out to try and have fun. It's fun and cheap - you basically pay $1.50 per kid for the hayride if you want and maybe some duck food for $.50. Not bad! We always end up taking a lunch and setting up in the shade on the grass. The moms get to relax and talk and the kids always end up in the water - there is a stream that they can run around in , jump over and splash in. It completely captures them - no matter the age. Kids love water and this is so relaxed and easy for them. We'll probably keep coming back every year until they outgrow it...

How fun. You are so lucky to be in such a great neighborhood.

I've never taken my kids there. I'll definitely have to check that out soon... boredom is building quickly as I slow down with the baby thing...

So agree with you on the overstimulating factor...simple is better.
