Around the block

This morning, after hitting snooze 3 times, I gladly agreed with Kerry that I should just sleep, turn off my alarm, and skip my morning run all together. He said "Just sleep in and you can have Eva watch the kids for a half hour while you go for a run this morning"
"Ok....sounds like a great idea", I thought for 2 seconds before I was back fast asleep.
I woke up at 8:30. And instead of going on a run, had the rest of last nights leftovers from recipe group - banana- pudding- wafer- heavy- cream- dessert- that- is- to- die- for from Jill. It was delicious. After that I was craving a small sliver of brownie. So I had that, too.
Some days you just have to do that.
Eva on the other hand has big plans that she and her friend Amanda made for this morning. Last night they set up a time to go running - around the block - 10:45am to be exact.
(assuming all jobs were done and approved by the moms)
They made up a list of things they needed: music, tennis shoes, apple, water, hair elastics, sweats, and a backpack. You can never be too prepared for your run around the block :)
I'm glad to see that she is following her mom's stellar example!

Queen Bee Tea         La Caille
Sat. 28, 2009
Eva and I, along with Brook and Kallie girl had the opportunity to attend a benefit 'tea' at La Caille for Mrs. Utah's, Emily Nelson, charity - Project Lemonade.  Emily's husband works with Kerry at YES.  There were all sorts of Queens attending.  Eva and I sat at the table with Miss Utah, Miss Outstanding Teen USA, and Miss Herriman.  We also sat by Necia DeGering from Good Things Utah and her 2 little girls.
Most of the younger girls were dressed up as princesses.  Eva has outgrown all of her Disney Princess days and dress ups.  But she still loves anything girly and tweeny.  They held a princess dress fashion show and auction.  We were the lucky bidders to win gown #1 - an 18th century little number that Eva is positive she will be able to wear at many different events, including church.  We'll  see......  I know I'm at the end of her dress up days and I am willing to prolong it as much as I can.  She still loves this stuff.
Emily put on a great fundraising event which is a very tricky and difficult thing to pull off.  There is a lot of work that takes place prior and she did a fantastic event!  Brooke said she was really proud of Emily for putting it all together.  I have to agree.  Great job!

I was really looking forward to spending some time with Eva - just the girls.  I think she had fun and was loving all of the Queens and crowns and glam that came with it.  My little girly girl - At least for a few more years!

Conversations with the kids

Beckham got a small bump on his head and told me that he needs to go to the Dr's to get a shot. What kind of kid requests to get a shot?? He's requested it many times before. Weird 2 yr old.

Yesterday Ethan and I had a conversation in the car about being a team player in soccer. He said, "Yep. It's all about having fun." and I said, "that's right." Then he quickly added, "But it's all about WINNING when you are playing Slug Bugs, huh mom." (Slug Bug What Color! Ethan and I are on a team and we always beat Beckham...Ethan keeps score and organized our alliance. Together we are inVincible!)

Eva has informed me that we will not be able to pick up her bed from the furniture store on Saturday because she is teaching a dance class to all of her friends in the neighborhood and will be doing so every Saturday through the summer. She mentioned it a few weeks ago and I thought she would forget about it, but she told me again yesterday and has also made up some props that they will be using. I hope that all her friends remember that they are signed up for this class!
